Kelly design, the exotic pictures may have helped.

Great job. Do you know an answer to a following question. BTW did I tell you that I love your Christmas card photo? Besides, we also have the big problem of getting our families photo taken when Scott ain’t behind the camera. Should I just make the dress that size hereafter take in till it fits, I reckon the pattern gonna be to big for me, this is the case right? Yes, that’s right! What size is the pattern? Fact, that i kre you were obsessed with your shabby apple dress It looks awesome. On top of that, thanks, By the way I really need this dress! To bad we can’t swap and get the photos we need! For instance, must I down size it, is that the case?

Hi! Is there another link anywhere? Thanks! As others have said above, the pattern link doesn’t seem to work, so this dress is perfect for my body shape… I will love to make one. By the way I love this dress and will really like to make one. Am I doing it wrong?

Earlier than planned, I’m intending to tackle it in two posts -one looking at formalwear this week and after that next week focusing on more casual Christmas dressing. We have got my selection ofChristmas party dressesfor women wheneverit gets to dressesI recently reread one of my favourite Grace Kelly quotes which in my opinion applies particularly well to evening dressing.

Should you wear them, this is the case right?

For an event like Jane’s, absolutely -but thence you have the cost per wear issue. It’s a tricky one. You’d also need to think about temperature -the long sleeves could mean you’d end up looking very rosy cheeked if the room was warm. This is where it starts getting really entertaining, right, right? Starting with my favourite -pure Bond girl glamour. Actually, i tend to steer away from long -however -if I thought I it’s what I’d wear. Maybe it’s the Northerner in me but I like the idea that I could still wear a grey tie dress to the theatre or dinner in a nice hotel without looking overdone. Actually, this one is alittle less sparkly and more classic -it gives me memories of Dynasty and the 80s so you’d have to be careful with your hair to avoid looking throwback but hereafter we are heading into a 80s revival.

Whilst we’re on the ‘long’ theme, plenty of the most stylish looking women at the last event I went to were wearing long or midi skirts with tops.

The important thing is to get the proportions right so you’re going for that Grace Kelly look with a high waist, think one third, two thirds which is always an ideal proportion. Now we are looking at very versatileas you could wear them on Christmas day or for a drinks party with friends. On top of that, hope Fashion which had been developed for women over I’ll talk more about Hope in next week’s post and show you how it looks on me -sadly it probably won’t be as chic as this but was not it great to see brandsusing models really like this. They tend to look chic rather than overdressed.

Now the knee length cocktail dress is always might be classic chic and there’re lots around. It’s my favourite of Boden’s party dresses this year, a great deal more low key than the dresses above but for sure that makes it very versatile. Accordingly the neckline is very flattering and I will addsparkly shoes and a bag for a party. You see, midi length is looking good this season. As Jane says, you oftenhave toinvest to buy something that fits really well and fit and flare can look a bit prom queen or muttony. Now let me tell you something. Unless… you choose midi length.

Shoes canmake or break an outfit. Be careful with standard leather for evening, it can look heavy and ruin the dress. Generally, pick suede, it’s softer which means it works better with light or textured fabrics, I’d say if you are looking for shoes that will work with daywear please do not forget that an ideal pair of party shoes is invaluable throughout December. It feels extravagant in dreary November but in December you’ll find yourself usingthem to dress up jeans outfits and I’m even planning to wear mine for work in the last week before we finish, just to add a tad of sparkle. Needless to say, there are the ones that I have bought, as you know.

Ok, I’m planning to stop now but I really hope this post has helped.

Jane’s in touch with me by email so I’ll make it fairly simple for you to know what she eventually decides to wear (oh and to answer the question about the lace topped jumpsuit, my gut says ‘no’ -it I believe jumpsuits could be kept simple.i do just like this one and would wear it for a blackish tie do. I’m preparing to leave you with the John Lewis Christmas ad which was released today, to get you in the hristmas mood. Of course in the meantime I hope you’ve all had a perfect week. Christmas -I have to go into the office on Monday next week but after that I’m intending to put my foot down and stick to my 3 day week as lots of us know that there are so it’s mainly for the benefit of our overseas readers who may not know what a national treasure John Lewis has become here in the UK. Keep in touch. Make sure you scratch suggestions about it below. Recently it has transformed itself and the Christmas TV ad is now as big here as the CocaCola truck beyond doubt is in the US.
