For the next few weeks, the dresses will remain at Metea Valley High School until they can be moved to the southern end of the district, where a currently empty classroom will serve as a storage room and eventually the Valley Runway Project shop.

Cluxton would like to see the district partner with floral shops, nail and hair salons, tuxedo rentals and similar ‘promrelated’ companies to ensure all kids have a special day.

It took Metea Valley reading specialist Ann Cluxton less than two months to envision, organize and fund the ‘three school’ dress drive that will give needy students a place to shop for formalwear without worrying about the cost.

Cluxton said women in the community who have formal gowns from a gala or wedding can donate, every of the three high schools collected dresses at every school on the day of the drive.
