They are not always the classic Western brands.

I’m quite sure I just wondered if you should clarify something.

two part dressSo here’s a question. Does the name on the jeans really matter that much? I always wear straight leg or boot cut jeans. Whenever lassoing cuffs, sometimes spurs and also chaps, split back button fly pants, vest, long sleeve shirt. I am the genuine article. I have belt buckles that I won. I do like your article. Also, there’s nothing like a starchy cowboy at the rodeo. Whenever nothing makes me feel more goofy than a pair of Wranglers all starched up unless I am planning to a honky nk or a steak house, and that’s just me. Know what guys, I am a CAS shooter and I dress just like a cowboy out of the movies.

two part dress I have my own style.

You think this still looks costumey, right?

I’m almost sure I could attach them, What I meant to say was that in my opinion spur straps look cool on boots and to wear them, I’m pretty sure I bought bumper spurs. Certainly, I probably should have been more clear. Wasn’t able to, tried to attach a pic. Generally, still the 6’7″ guy gets a bunch of looks wearing a buckle and I understand that any ideas or guidelines? You should take this seriously. Few times that I have been questioned about it I’d just show my calluses, that said, this sportdestroys hands to the spot where you don’t need to bend your fingers to fight an itch, and nothing else came of it. I’m sure it sounds familiar. Have won two buckles with my last name engraved from a race that was called the rodeo, ive never competed in a rodeo. Oftentimes I’ve never quite figured out if I can wear them or should just put them in the p shelf of my dresser. You see, they need to be longer than what you would normally buy to wear with shoes, you are will be wearing them over your boots.

two part dress They still cover the ps of your boots when you are sitting down, They need to stack somewhat.

You might seek for to buy a 34″, if you typically wear a 32″ inseam.

Length can be the most crucial part of selecting a decent pair of jeans. For instance, buy a light brown belt, So if your boots are light brown. It doesn’t necessarily need to be quite similar shade. Same thing goes for grey. Did you hear about something like that before? You can even find belts that are grey and dark brown to wear with either color boots. Now let me tell you something. Like the one shown here made by Ariat, in the interest of cost and wearability, your best bet pretty easy leather belt, that comes with a tastefulbuckle. They are either inappropriate for the setting or just wrong all in all. I’m sure you heard about this. More items you try to work into your ensemble, the greater chance you have of a direct violation of the cowboy dress code, that is what we are attempting to avoid here.

For best results, stick with the five basics above. Leave the bolo ties, bandanas, spurs, chaps and any other unnecessary accessories in the premises. Posting to remind you that we handsome grey cowboys exist!!!!! Usually, it will make you look sharp and authentic. Now pay attention please. It’s easier to move and work in pants with some extra room. Certainly, I have a question, I’ve got a very sticky build and I like my jeans kinda loose. I typically go up 1 waste size from my actual size.. Is that acceptable or am I crossing into hip hop cowboy?

Can’t agree with you on the square e boots.

They are the dumbest looking things I’ve ever seen.

They are pretty impossible to find, I started wearing cowboy boots in the 60’s and that’s the style I still wear, pointed as sharp as I can find. I actually myself own more cowboy boots and cowboy hats than I know what to do with, as a self declared cowgirl. With all that said… Identical goes for my husband, and both of us are happy that someone finally put the do’s and don’ts of western wear in writing! Actually I am enough of a cowboy to know what looks good holding my pants up, A nice custom designed silver ‘3piece’ buckle says, I may not have won this.

That’s a tricky area.

a trophy buckle on a cowboy is proof to quite a bit of the world that he can carry his weight in the arena.

Borrow one from a cowboy friend, or check the pawn shops or EBAY. It is while sporting a genuine trophy buckle that other people won is perfectly acceptable in my book, noone except is preparing to know the difference, Therefore in case you’re dressed well otherwise. On p of this, pretty much any other kind of purchased western belt buckle screams, I am not a real cowboy! Even if you weren’t yet hatched, retro is in, thus 1956 Champion Saddle Bronc Rider works. With square or round e a solitary comfortable boot in the stirrups. I feel out of place now…, love the article. When you look the part, you just need to come up with a decent story for the first person who asks you where you parked your pony. I’m sure that the more authentic you look, remember, chicks dig cowboys, the better chance you have of collecting a phone number or two before the night is over. You shouldn’t worry, you can thank me later. Consequently, really like that one.there are a few cool western ‘t shirt’ companies out there now that I can recommend. Check sayiwontand Cowboy Militia, So if you are a dyedinthewool ‘t shirt’ guy. Remember, my general recommendation is to keep away from western t shirts. Normally, these brands are Earn Your Spurs approved. Basically, cinch, Wrangler and Ariat have some nice logo ‘t shirts’ that are ok for the most part there’re some really terrible ones out there. Now look, a little silver is great, just be careful with the swarovskis. This is the case. Do not try to bring back the nylon belt trend of the 80’s and 90′ you will notice the girls wearing lots of bling aka sparkly things on their belts.

I would advise against it, A few crystals certainly I know it’s up to your discretion.

Leather belts only, please!

I am not a fan of bling on dudes. I tally agree with you on the boots, quickest way to look like a city boy is to tuck your pant legs in. Have you heard of something like that before? Howdy, I read your article, and not bad. Normally, I do have just a few things to throw in, on the hat section here in Texas everyone has there own shape they are like snowflakes no 2 really similar. All in all l, you did a good job on the article, you have blessed day. Did you know that the shirts are kind of tricky, To be honest I would tell people to take a look at cavenders.com and look at the larry Mahan shirts, they also make good quality boots and hats all hand made here in Texas. With that said, the material felt should only be worn in cold weather months and straw or leaf throughout the warmer months like spring and summer. As long as for the most part there’re so many and And so it’s this particular matter of preference, it’s kind of a huge topic.

Did you have any specific questions about it?

I will make a point to go back and add a bit more to that section.

Shape is something I plan to cover more in another post or possibly a podcast episode. Thanks for pointing that out. Straw is perfectly fine, I believe, if it’s still 80 degrees out. Wear your jeans and a leather belt if you have one. So if you don’t feel comfortable wearing it, your lack of confidence will shine through, you can have all better just right cowboy gear. Remember, I believe it depends on where you live, some say hats should always be felt in the fall. Dress comfortably. Well Colten I’m from Texas to I live on a farm down south and you are right on how you wear the felt hats in late fall winter and early spring, it keeps your head warm and straw most of the time the rest your pretty right about miss Alyssa anyway y’all have an ideal day.

Look, there’re hundreds of options in colors, materials and price point, when you get the basic style down.

Expect to pay anywhere from $ 130 for a standard, basic leather boot, up to more than $ 500 for exotics like ostrich and caiman.

Oh, and must go over them, not the other way around. When I’m asked I always refer em to this write up which is on point I believe down to the starching of the jeans. Seriously. Thanks for this write up. So, well thank you very much for it is a great write up for a greenhorn making an attempt to get dressed as a cowboy. I have always worn cowboy gear and when friends ask what all they are suppose to look into as far as buying the correct clothing which here in Houston really is not hard to find. You should take this seriously. It may take some amount of time to get used to the boots. It’s a well I might be spending some amount of time working out on my cousin’s farm this summer and part of fall.

I will have to try out those Wranglers.

Thanks for the tips.

I really seek for to look the part and impress my cousin. I will look good in some work jeans in my opinion. Shirt like the one pictured never goes out of style and always looks great. You can never go wrong with a classic print. Some are your basic plaid with pearl snaps numbers which are fine, others have some pretty funky graphics. I would be a little careful with those, retro styles are very popular now. Companies like Greeley Hat Works will build you a ‘oneofakind’ masterpiece that fits your oddshaped head like a glove. Consider a custom hat, if proper fit is a concern for you. Question for you… I know you said spurs are ols and not decoration. However, thanks! Anyway, recently I’ve gotten into spurs and spur straps. On p of this, what are your thoughts about wearing bumper spurs solely for decoration? Certainly, that being said, you could not have given better advice than when you shared Leave the bolo ties, bandanas, spurs, chaps and any other unnecessary accessories indoors.

They are either inappropriate for the setting or just wrong all in all. Having both grown up on a ranch, we are no strangers to regularly wearing our favorite pair of jeans for much longer than we should, and identical goes for our favorite belts. You also hit the nail on the head when you said that you can’t go wrong with a classic flannel button up shirt, as it is my ‘goto’ look for the past couple of years. Please share guides similar to this one, it’s definitely refreshing to see that someone still loves western wear as much as I do. With that said, I would recommend sticking with a signature western brand like Wrangler, 20X, or Cinch, when it boils down to jeans. Just ensure they aren’t ain’t all that important as long as the fit is right. Wear a color that complements your complexion and rock it! Only one rule whenit gets to the color of your hat is that you wear what you feel good in!

Contrary to classic western lore, you can not see many white hats these days, and the good guy going to be doing more walking than riding.

Most people will find the flat heel more comfortable. That said, equally important to what you sport on your head is what you choose to put on your feet.a straightforward ‘roper style’ boot with a flat heel and a round or square e is your safest bet. You won’t see preparing to cut it either. We won’t get into it here, custom designed silver buckles with initials or a personal brand are tally different. Considering the above said. My best advice is to keep it simple, and avoid drawing a bunch of attention to the position, So in case a trophy buckle ain’t an option. I’m sure it sounds familiar. Nothing with writing on it. Know what, I would recommend a tasteful and simple 3 piece style, Therefore if you still seek for a silver buckle.

By the way, a fake trophy buckle can be spotted a mile away, as mentioned previously.

Try on a few and buy what looks and feels p to you.

So X rating doesn’t mean a whole lot since there is no universal standard for X’ One company’s ‘Xrating’ might be very different from another’ I especially don’t take the X’s into account much with a straw hat. I will probably buy it, So if I like the way it looks and it fits my head. Consequently, there’re a whole lot of great brands out there these days, including American and Atwood for palm leaf straws, stetson is a great brand. Known they even have an affordable line.
